Its bad enough I can't install programs via a disk anymore which didn't require internet access or speed But to have windows and other services running in the background continuously that aren't doing anything productive and I can't control is pushing me to insanity. I need to disable or stop services, tasks, programs that run repeatedly and aren't necessary. Some don't stop no matter what I do or restart even if disabled.
I have ran virus software, malware software and nothing ever shows. But I still Googleupdate. I check and these both are disabled. And how do I access them? Or is this from within a software program? And I don't want to install it. This goes back to Bill Kindles message, where he said that I should manually check for Chrome updates, as part of stopping the scheduled tasks. Start - search bar type add or remove, open add or remove programs and see if Google Chrome appears on your installed list of programs?
Kind regards, Dave. I'm a little confused, that scheduled task only shows up to my knowledge if Chrome has been installed or something like Google Desktop search has been installed. IF you do not want software to be installed, then you need to configure a GPO to have software restriction policies in place.
Delete the tasks, think about if you want users accessing the internet through your terminal server. Looking at it again, Chrome is definitely not installed. So there are no Chrome updates to remove.
